The 3A is not available for NiMH which remain limited to 0.5A. It's not enough for C or D format NiMH which can reach 6000mAh. The SQ4 had a noisy fan, here there is no noise, and probably no fan, as the VC4 weights 25g less than former version. The internal resistance is measured at the beginning of charging process and is not updated. It should be because it varies during the charge. I recommend to press firmly the contacts when inserting a battery in order to obtain a realistic resistance measurement. In conclusion, I highly recommend this charger, but it can still be improved!
